A night to remember.....

Since we haven't seen Zach in almost 4 months, Scottie and I decided to stay in with him during his visit this week... instead of fighting the crowds to watch fireworks. We grilled up some delicious chicken and got the fire pit going. Then I got jealous because I could hear the boom of the mortars going off EVERYWHERE around us. Zach went out and found that, on the corner of our street, you CAN see fireworks from somewhere in Burbank. We had the perfect view from our front yard! The night was absolutely memorable!

Scottie makes these AMAZING "fire starters".... they each melt into the fire and do different things. This one melts from the bottom and spills out paper and plastic and it's really entertaining to watch!

Lub da Hub

After almost 4 months, Hubs finally got the chance to come home and visit Scottie and I. I can't wait to spend the next few days with him before he has to head back to Colorado. To surprise Scott, my father, his wife,my stepsister and Scottie met me at Lancer's for lunch. I gave Scott a card from Zach (he sends them every few weeks) and while he was opening it, Zach sat down next to me at the table without Scott noticing. Then I told Scott that Zach had sent him a present with the card and then I looked to my left at Zach. Scottie lit up and it was so cute. Of course he had to add "I KNEW he was coming!" just to be cool. haha I loved it!

Got a couple photos so far (Thanks Diane) ... more to come .....

Mid-20's crisis?

I think I am having a mid-20's crisis. I keep remembering the "good ol days" as if they were really that long ago. haha :0)  So, to make myself feel better/younger and also to celebrate 12lbs lost in these past 5 weeks... I went out and got my hair done up like I used to have it.

When all else fails....

turn it into mixed media and pretend it was on purpose. I am not a great painter. I never know what to paint! I am very random and never have a goal in mind when I get artsy. So, when my painting didn't end up looking like anything I was proud of, I added "my" touch to it.... in other words I stuck my scrapbooking supplies all over it and made mixed media~!  I love how it came out. :0)

Project Fair - Practice Photoshoot

Scott choose Photography for his school's Project Fair. I taught him a few basics. Here are a few nice photos out of his practice shoot.

Kickin' it oldskool....

Came across some of my old pix.... such fun to go back a few years, but it's still hard to believe I'm so far out of my teen years already :0/

A new SPIN on Easter

Saw it in the store... thought it looked easier then sitting and waiting while an egg swims in food dye. Outcome you ask? Eh, they looked alright but were very sticky! More like paint then dye.

We opted out of the traditional egg hunt at home. This year we did a treasure hunt instead... and not just ANY ol' treasure hunt would do. We used lyrics to guide us where to go! At each correct destination, you had to search for a green post-it... which was returned to me, Momma, for your prize (which was NOT given in an Easter basket this year... we changed that also). I opened up Itunes and played only the part of the song which held his clue. This was SOOOOOO much fun! Definatly something we will repeat!

Some of the lyrics/clues we had were...... (there were 20 in total)
1. "Now I lay me down to sleep" from Enter Sandman - Hidden within his pillow case
2. "It's five o'clock somewhere" from It's five o'clock somewhere duh lol - Hidden underneath his alarm clock
3. "Now that it's raining more then ever....." from Umbrella - Behind his umbrella :0)
4. "Here in this diary...." from In this diary - Hidden within a page of one of the four Vampire Diaries books :0) This was his last and most difficult to find clue. haha

Then, off we headed to Gram's of course! Lots of food and fun. :0)
