Close a door, open a window?

I don't really like that quote. I would rather have a big huge door open for me then a little window. However, being in a positive mindset means appreciating anything you DO have!

I just did the math and there is NO way that I can afford sending myself and Scott... or even just myself... to Zach's graduation from Basic Training in Nov. The cost of flights and hotels and food is just unbelievable. I should have thought more about it before talking with Zach. For me, I figured it wasn't going to be easy, or even an option. But for him, I know he is set on it in his head. Now I have to disappoint him that he will most likely be alone for his graduation ceremony.

The ONLY upside to this is that Christmas Exodus is a month after graduation so he will be able to come home for a couple weeks so at least I get to see my husband once during his leave. Some wives don't even get that.

ShanesInspiration.org

....... is an AMAZING park that I just found out about. It is located in Griffith Park by the Merry-Go-Round and Golf Course. Shane passed away two weeks after his birth. He would have been in a wheelchair for his entire life. His parents realized that had their son live, he would not have any park to play in like other children. So, they did an amazing thing.... they started making parks which can cater to both handi-cap and non handi-cap children so that they can play together. Shane's Inspiration Park is one of many parks of it's kind now.

This is a gorgeous and HUGE park. We enjoyed it very much and definatly will go back!

Thank you Southwest...

Thanks to Southwest for calling my cell to tell me that Hubbin's flight was an hour late. I had just dropped him off when I got the call. I IMMEDIATLY freaked out and called Zach asking him if I could come back. I was so elated when he said to turn around and come get him. We drove down Imperial Hwy to the beach and walked through the sand... hand in hand. It was so unexpected and fun and romantic. Missing him very much, but I will see him again not even two months from his post. Let the countdown begin......

P.S. I have the sexiest husband alive!

LUB DA HUB!!!!!

I just love him sooooooo much!

Left, Left, Left, Right, Left

Me and my boys... and Harley.... went on a hike in Griffith this morning. Scott and I had a blast showing Zach the old Zoo location with the old cages. We had such an amazing time!

A night to remember.....

Since we haven't seen Zach in almost 4 months, Scottie and I decided to stay in with him during his visit this week... instead of fighting the crowds to watch fireworks. We grilled up some delicious chicken and got the fire pit going. Then I got jealous because I could hear the boom of the mortars going off EVERYWHERE around us. Zach went out and found that, on the corner of our street, you CAN see fireworks from somewhere in Burbank. We had the perfect view from our front yard! The night was absolutely memorable!

Scottie makes these AMAZING "fire starters".... they each melt into the fire and do different things. This one melts from the bottom and spills out paper and plastic and it's really entertaining to watch!

Lub da Hub

After almost 4 months, Hubs finally got the chance to come home and visit Scottie and I. I can't wait to spend the next few days with him before he has to head back to Colorado. To surprise Scott, my father, his wife,my stepsister and Scottie met me at Lancer's for lunch. I gave Scott a card from Zach (he sends them every few weeks) and while he was opening it, Zach sat down next to me at the table without Scott noticing. Then I told Scott that Zach had sent him a present with the card and then I looked to my left at Zach. Scottie lit up and it was so cute. Of course he had to add "I KNEW he was coming!" just to be cool. haha I loved it!

Got a couple photos so far (Thanks Diane) ... more to come .....
