SAUSAGE DOG!

We finally got ownership of lil Harley girl... we call her Sausage Dog because she's a lil fatso. She loves laying on her back like a baby, whimpering (NEVER barks) and fighting with her stuffed Moose.

Girl's just wanna have fun!

I FINALLY had a girl's night thanks to my friend, Elise... and like girl's do, we couldn't help ourselves but take picture upon picture of ourselves. Elise got me all purdy and out came the camera. (btw, I dont suggest cutting your own side bangs while drinking... clips shall be my friends for months to come)

So much in so little time...

So much has changed for our family this year. After coming home from vacation to see our house torn apart, we ended up moving to a new location in Glendale. That is so much a short story from the real situation but I don't wish to relive any of the bad times any more then I have already. So, heres to the good memories of the past several months.

Firstly, our new home (even though only one bedroom) is very cute and next door to my Seester. I am loving fixing it up and adding my own touches to it. Here's a few photos of the work before and during... updated photos will come soon as I am ''done'' with decorating officially.

Rest of photos can be seen here..... http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/photo.php?pid=659881&id=1484891475&fbid=1242565472655
And to see how horribly ugly the place looked like BEFORE renovations took place, check out here....  http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=38882&id=1484891475#/album.php?aid=36643&id=1484891475&op=12

Break a leg.... ummm... I didnt mean literally!

Seester had a Tib/Fib break yesterday on her quad out in Dove Springs. OUCH! Thankfully, no surgery was needed, but she does get it checked tomorrow by another doc just to be sure. Hard cast will go on once the swelling is down.  Pictures below of Tib/Fib break and then after they reset it.

CONGRATS HUBBIN!

Zach just got hired on with one of the best Security companies. He starts his process on Monday for paper work, uniform, etc. He will be an armed gaurd looking sexy (might I add) in his patrol unit keeping all those HOA (CONclaves hehe inside joke) homes safe. He will be POST certified in the next 6 months which in lammos terms means he is pretty much a Police Officer. The starting pay is what we needed and the growth at the company is great. This is the stepping stone we have been waiting for! CONGRATS HUBBIN ON YOUR HARD WORK FINALLY PAYING OFF!!!

Oh, and I got a job also... nothing much, just 8 hours a week. The hourly pay is high enough to make the low hours worth it. Most importantly, its a job I love to do and doesn't make me go crazy inside. :0)

Ashes Ashes We All Fall Down!

For those of you who have been happily living under a rock this past week, La Crescenta is on FIRE!!! I've been told this is worse then the fire back in 1977. La Crescenta, La Canada, Tujunga and upwards of Acton/Agua Dulce are all set a flame. Details can be found all over the web and nighttime news, but I thought I'd share a few pictures. Our house is fine, obviously.... we are below Montrose. Two of my friends are in the evacuation zone but both are fine and mostly likely will continue to be fine (just precautions). Scottie will NOT be starting school tomorrow as planned because of the air quality being so horrible. This past weekend, the news stated the fire will be going beyond this week, so school might be delayed for awhile. I'd rather have my little man breathing good though then worry about school at this point.

ALSO, before we get to the pictures, Scott HAS gotten advanced scores on his STAR testing last year. His scores are high enough to get into the GATE program for 4th grade. He will be taking the Olsats in a few months which will be the determining test for his official acceptance. HOWEVER, the school has informed me that they do NOT have the budget for GATE this year!!!! Can you believe it? I have been waiting 4 years of elementary school for this moment. I couldn't wait to pass down my grade school smarts over to my little man. He definatly deserves it and now the schools are so poor that it's not even an option for him! :0( So very dissapointed. They said they will be trying to offer "something" for the kids this year, but who knows what that will be.

LASTLY, I got a job this past month as a Marketing Distributor. Long story short, I fix shelves for our contracted companies and make sure everything is up to par on their scematics (map of where things are supposed to go on the shelves). MY store will be located at Frys in Burbank. Only a few hours a week but good hourly pay. Something to do while Scottie's in school. Enough to cover monthly groceries. :0) haha

NOW, moving on to the photos.... enjoy! (but not too much... those are homes and business's in jeapordy remember)

Smoke viewed all the way out in Northridge!

View from Ralphs/Church area in La Crescenta..... Yes, it IS that low!

Ah, Nature.... or is it AHHHHHH Nature!!!!

Stupid chirping birds get REALLY annoying at 5 o'clock in the morning every day. I decided to see what all the commotion was about and when I did... I just couldn't get mad at them anymore.... well as long as she's making the nest for babies.... cause if it's just laziness and a place to rest then she can move her lil birdie butt somewhere else!!! Oh and Daddy Birdie brings her a new twig every ten minutes or so.... so cute!!!!

Never too old for big Legos!

So, I woke up yesterday and Scottie was playing with his Legos. He wakes up about an hour before everyone else, so he finds silly ways to entertain himself. This is what he made....

A fast food drive through... complete with cash register. (Note: Spanglish speaking immigrant not included... go ahead... call me prejudice... see if I care. haha)

Rocking out for Sports Day!

I guess wearing riding pants and boots all day wouldn't have been comfortable.... but hey, mis-matching still counts. :0)

GATE program here we come......

So, I came home tonight after spending the day with the Seester and found that Scottie had some papers in his backpack waiting for me. I pulled it out and surprise surprise... it's his Reading Benchmark scores. Though I can't say that I am shocked.... I am unbelievably proud of my Lil Scottie Man!!! There are no words for the joy I have in my heart to have raised such a smarty. I feel like parading him through town and showing his scores off to the world!!!! Now, Scottie always scores in the advanced category on testing, but it is also so easy for him to get distracted.... so a perfect score is hard to reach. So, when I saw this, I was unbelievably excited with his work. The beginning year test had a score of 93% so I can tell that his test taking scores have improved. AND, this is the first year Scott has tested with his own class. The years before, he had been excused to the office to test alone.

SCOTTIE, MOMMA IS SO PROUD OF THE WORK YOU HAVE DONE THIS YEAR! YOU ARE AMAZING!

sorry I can't get the picture any larger.... trust me I'd blow it up and post it on an entire side of the house if I could :0)

Iron Circus by Metal Mulisha

I took Zach out to see a freestyle moto show this past Saturday as an early Father's Day gift.

Zach dressed from head to toe in nothing but Metal Mulisha gear!

We waited in line for autographs for what seemed like years haha (can you spot my Metal Mulisha fanatic Hubbin?)

I wrap Christmas presents months in advance... why should Father's Day be any different?...AKA Father's Day Part One & Two

So, Daddy Zach got quite spoiled this year. Father's Day is coming in three parts.

Part one, Zach recieved a new pair of Sandals almost two months before Father's Day (which he desperatly needed and I just can't keep a surprise if my life depended on it!)

Part Two, Since this gift goes along with a surprise trip this Saturday (that was the intention, Daddy Zach found out weeks ago cause loud mouth Momma can't keep her trap shut)... anywho, this is the only free day Scottie had that matched with Daddy Zach's schedule (Cause Scottie is a highly saught after ticket item in this family.... the kind of item that people start wars over... no joke, just ask someone about the War of 2000 Birth of the Sacred Child.... their faces will turn white as their bones rattle in fear!)

I Digress...

Step One: Wrap gift in beautiful paper with much care and preparation (Or use box the item was shipped in) Don't forget to make the receiver of the gift close their eyes.... just in case they have x-ray vision. If they don't, it still makes for better anticipation.

Step Two: Gift Reciever recieves gift and has amazing shock response to the awesome gift they just recieved. (However, one of two things happen. Either picture taker is not expecting Gift Reciever to open gift so quickly so misses shot OR Camera doesn't funtion quickly under low light... but remember, we always shall blame it on the camera. Because professional photographers do not make such silly mistakes so camera is at fault.) None the less, Gift Reciever must now pose as though they have just recieved gift again. All the pressure mounts as pose must be held for numerous minutes because within the alloted arguing time over what the problem was (Camera's fault... don't forget) the camera has shut off (such a lovely energy saving feature). Photographer is beyond capable of getting perfect shot.... here's proof...

Step Three: Gift Reciever now models gift (wearable gifts only please) for Photographer (unless its like a new thong or something... in which case the photo should not be passed around a family blog such as this.... and definatly should not have been considered a great Father's Day gift)

Step Four: Bask in the glory that is the perfect gift... because you the Gift Giver deserves it. You have thought long and hard about this moment. Tears have been shed. Memories sifted through til the wee hours of the night (What does a trip to the bathroom have to do with late night anyhow? And if you mean "we", then why does it have to be plural? These are the things that keep me up at night people!) Gift Giver deserves a pat on the back (Why? Am I a dog?) .... I think Gift Giver deserves a night out on the town. What do you think? .... oh.... ok then.... sorry... I forgot.... I know I know... you don't give gifts just to recieve something in return.... the smile on their faces is the gift you recieve.

Well, if that's the case, I could have given just the card.

A short story... created in the life of Scottie and Momma

Once Upon a Time.... (Hey, why don't we capatalize the "a"? Poor little guy... I cant just leave him out like that. He'll get cold and lonesome!!! Let's start this over again without any discrimination.)

Once Upon A Time...

A little Scottie creature hide behind the lunch tables just waiting for his next prey (cause he's a naughty lil Scottie creature)

Then, there came a beautiful fair maiden (Guess who!!!???) just minding her own business (Cause she knows better then to follow the drama of others... highschool taught her that)

When out of nowhere, the lil Scottie creature attacked..... AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH alsdfpuoarwglkfbh (Whoa sorry, jumped out of my chair there!)

The lil Scottie creature was sooo amused with himself. "I am the greatest creature of all the land and no one is scarier then I", he chanted. (Someone is a bit too confident) DUN DUN DUNNNNNNNNN (Scary sounds affects for more dramatic scene)

But to the lil Scottie creature's surprise, the gorgeous fair maiden had a sneak attack.

And they all lived happily ever after.

Or did they?

Mwuahahahahahahahahaha

Three Cheers for Open House!!!!

Started with some simple food from the Kiwana's Club BBQ... but that isnt important.... THIS is the stare of the show... KETCHUP! Oh how I love you dear friend.... my sweet sweet friend.

Scottie is such a helper...
He helped with the coffee fundraising stand... (Coffee really? Well, with all these crazy kids it makes perfect sense... FINALLY instead of cupcakes for the kids... give the parents COFFEE!!!!)

Helping carry a box for the Principal.... in his own way of course

Awww my Scottie Man showing me his wonderfuly organized desk (which of course was that neat ALL year!)

Scottie's work.... (Only some writing? What a jip... where are the huge pictures that take up half my file cabinet every year?... cause of course I can't part with any beautiful work of art my lil man makes... what kind of mom do you think I am?)

Seester's new place so cute... and comes with DUCK!

Went to Seester's new place today so Zach could help bring in the couch and loveseat. Here's a sneak peak of the work thats been done... painting, clean carpets and they are working on the tiles for the new floor. Their place is SOOOO cute with all of its little built-ins and such. Funniest part was when I saw a random duck walking outside. Yea... a DUCK! Just taking a Sunday stroll through Glendale!
