Go Big or Go Home!

That's what they say anyways. So, that's what I did. With my graphics being worked on, I have gone full throttle with promotions for my shop, Heartmade Creations. The shop has been entered in several giveaways with such a great response. We are building our fans at a great pace and hope to keep it going. Oh, and I say "we" because my little man is in on the fun too! Scott will be making fabric keychains and other small gift items to help save for his college fund. :0)

You can find us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/heartmadecreations
and also on Etsy at heartmadecreations.etsy.com

Here are some examples of our latest shop additions....

Updating Time.....

So, I've been lazy and haven't written in a while. I apologize. Forgive me. I am back... so do not fret my pretties. :0)

I have been working on organizing my shop lately. I am currently working on my graphics with the lovely Kristen over at Ahoy Graphics! I am in the process of choosing my font and color scheme. This is what I have so far....
Do you love it!!!!!???? I DO! I DO! I can't wait to continue on this process and see what unfolds next. I'm doing surprisingly well (I think) for being a usually indecisive person. 0_o

I have also been working on my sewing skills with lots of different styles of little girl skirts. They are so much fun to make! I have two signature skirts now... one being named after my bestie's little girl, Sandra and the other still in the works (cause an idea in my head still makes it official right?). Here are some of the items I have completed.....

OH OH OH, also, my Aunt Debbie (as if I have any other aunt lol) introduced me to a lovely little gift boutique over in Eagle Rock called Heather's Store. (also on Facebook). Now, several of my items can be found at the store!!! AND, I already got my first sale through the store as well. :0)

Other than my creative endeavors, there has been a few updates on the home front as well. My dear Hubbin is currently serving his two week summer drill over in Haiti. He has been gone almost a week now and is doing well. It has been hard seeing all the children who are so hungry and not being able to do anything about it. Sadly, if you give a small child some food they would be beaten by bigger children for the food. :0/  He has organized, with his Sgt., a group to go out of the base and "mingle" with the villagers and try to shift the attitude to a more positive one between soldiers and locals. I am so proud of all the work he is doing. He is truly my hero! Today, he waited in line for over an hour just to get a 6 minute phone call home to Scott and I. What more could you ask for in a mate!? He has stolen my heart and never would I dare turning him in for it. ;0)

We will be leaving in a few weeks to go visit Hubs up in CO for a month. I am so excited and cannot wait for that long 16 hour drive to see my man again! Just to fall asleep in his arms again will be more than I can ask for (since we haven't had a real bed for a few years now!)

Anywho, that is about it. We are all doing well and moving forward and can't wait to see what the future has in store for us. I know it's bright! :0)

Skirts Galore!

Maybe galore is a bit of an exaggeration, but I do have some new skirts that I have been working on. One is a typical twirl skirt done in two matching fabrics and the other is also a twirl skirt but with a flat front. I love the idea of a flat front because it gives you space to place a pin or other embellishment. I was given the idea to make suspender type straps onto the skirts with some cute buttons in the front, but I am passing on that for now as I don't quite know how to size things like that. Definatly an idea to keep for the future. I love rompers and such and would love to make a little skirt type romper!

Anywho, here are some photos. Each of the skirts will come with a matching hair clip. There is also a matching diaper cover shown that does not come with, but just happens to be in the same matching fabric so I have added it. It's my first diaper cover and they are SO CUTE and fun to make! The "Blue Blossom" skirt also comes with a rosette pin that can be removed before washing. These are two styles that I will have in the shop once things are set up. Still have a lot of work to do first, but almost there! :0)

Boot Camp Week One DONE!

I am finished with week one of boot camp. Only eleven more to go. Wow, I should never say it like that again. That makes it sound so long.

Anywho, today's workout was difficult but good. There were cycles of three exercises with a minute of crunches in between. They consisted of three different arm exercises with free weights, one of them combined with doing squats. The cycles were in multiples of four. You did each exercise four times then a minute of crunches and repeat again but this time do them 8 times each.... and so on and so forth until you have done 40 of each arm exercise.

All in all, I ended up doing 660 arm exercises, 220 squats and 10 minutes of crunches. 0_0  Wowzas. I would have never guessed I could do all of that.

Scott and I got home and Harley was going nuts so we took her for a walk down the street. We ended up running a third of the way back down the block since I had all my workout endorphins coursing through me.

Running.... hard work but so freeing. :0)

Day Deuce....

Day Two of my fitness boot camp.

I won't lie. I walked off crying. Trainer came after me. I came back and finished the hour.

Tonight sucked. Almost all of the exercises were in a push up position. Putting this much weight on my weak wrists is anything but easy.... painful actually. With a LOT of modifications, I got through it.

The routine consisted of cycles of 6 different work outs for a minute each for the full hour. Again, boring.... but not the priority. 0_0

The exercises consisted of V-Ups. Yea, I could stop there. That pretty much sums up the entire hour. HELL! haha We did Spider Man (push up position) and Wall/Stair/Something or other Climbs (push up position) and Burpies (push up and then jump up and repeat). The only thing I really rocked at was the Cherry Picker. Hands up to the air and then back down to your toes and repeat. I got that in the bag. I worked on reaching my toes last year, so that was a cinch. Because of that exercise, I can actually say I am better then my 11 year old son at something. haha

As for my eating, I stayed under 1,200 calories of healthy food, lots of water, and all of my vitamins/minerals/omegas. I think I might have a before bed snack, but I promise it will be good for me.

... yea, good for my taste buds. ;0P

I'm coming to get you toes!

Day one of fitness boot camp down. One day closer to seeing my toes again. haha

After coming across an amazing deal with these two trainers, I just couldn't pass it up and I signed up pretty much on the spot. I came to find out that they had an afternoon class, as I couldn't make it to the morning classes. The couple people in the afternoon class switched over to the mornings. This left the afternoon class with only one person, ME! So, I now have two trainers all to myself for an hour a day, 5 days a week, for 12 weeks! Though I can't share the actual price, I can say that it is very comparable to minimum wage (shhh... lower) and so I definatly got a great deal going here. Oh, and Scottie goes with me, since I don't have a daily babysitter, and he works out two. So, it is like 1.5 people for the price. :0)

Anywho, so this is the work out they have me doing. It's crazy boring, but at this point, that isn't the priority right?

Stretching / Warm Up

Do ONE of each of the following....
1. Turkish Get Ups - Laying on back, put one fist in the air and then reach it up into the air (like you're doing a crunch kind of... repeat with other arm)
2. While laying on side, hug yourself with bottom arm and place upper arm under self.. push self up. Repeat with other side. (don't think I can explain any better than that sorry haha)
3. Push up (The girlie kind for me... cause I'm a princess and don't you forget it)
4. Super man? (laying on stomach with arms out in front of you, lift both arms and legs into the air as high as you can.)
5. Sit up (Cassy style of course.... one leg bent while other leg forcefully kicks out away from body in order to HOPEFULLY get enough momentum going that a half sit up will be possible)
6. Squat  (Gotta work on being one with my invisible chair)
7. Jumping Jack (Go figure, this is the best thing that I can do)
8. Front Kick... repeat other leg.
9. Jog from middle of grass to the end of grass, turn around, pass starting point to other end/side of grass, turn around and stop in the middle (where we started). For me, I walked... I am horribly unsure on my feet and so the grass area was full of bumps and such that I felt like I was tripping on. Oh, and of course I had like 0.2648 percent oxygen left in my lungs!!!

Now repeat everything again but do each thing TWICE.

Now repeat everything again but do each thing THREE times.

Now repeat everything again but do each thing FOUR times.

Now repeat everything again but do each thing FIVE times.

Now repeat everything again but do each thing SIX times.

Now repeat everything again but do each thing SEVEN times.

Now thank the Lord that your hour is up and it is time to cool down and stretch again. At this point, I also prayed that my dizziness/wobbliness wouldn't affect the drive home. 0_o

Oh and don't forget.... come home, write in your blog about it and while you do that, remember that you forgot to turn your Redbox DVD in on your way home. Well, I guess tonight's class cost me an extra $1.10. Still cheaper than minimum wage though! lol

Note: You do the cycle as many times as you can do the allotted hour. So, if you are many more times as fast as me, then you will end up doing each thing many more times each. Yea, picture how boring THAT is... but again, not the priority right?
