Day Deuce....

Day Two of my fitness boot camp.

I won't lie. I walked off crying. Trainer came after me. I came back and finished the hour.

Tonight sucked. Almost all of the exercises were in a push up position. Putting this much weight on my weak wrists is anything but easy.... painful actually. With a LOT of modifications, I got through it.

The routine consisted of cycles of 6 different work outs for a minute each for the full hour. Again, boring.... but not the priority. 0_0

The exercises consisted of V-Ups. Yea, I could stop there. That pretty much sums up the entire hour. HELL! haha We did Spider Man (push up position) and Wall/Stair/Something or other Climbs (push up position) and Burpies (push up and then jump up and repeat). The only thing I really rocked at was the Cherry Picker. Hands up to the air and then back down to your toes and repeat. I got that in the bag. I worked on reaching my toes last year, so that was a cinch. Because of that exercise, I can actually say I am better then my 11 year old son at something. haha

As for my eating, I stayed under 1,200 calories of healthy food, lots of water, and all of my vitamins/minerals/omegas. I think I might have a before bed snack, but I promise it will be good for me.

... yea, good for my taste buds. ;0P

I'm coming to get you toes!

Day one of fitness boot camp down. One day closer to seeing my toes again. haha

After coming across an amazing deal with these two trainers, I just couldn't pass it up and I signed up pretty much on the spot. I came to find out that they had an afternoon class, as I couldn't make it to the morning classes. The couple people in the afternoon class switched over to the mornings. This left the afternoon class with only one person, ME! So, I now have two trainers all to myself for an hour a day, 5 days a week, for 12 weeks! Though I can't share the actual price, I can say that it is very comparable to minimum wage (shhh... lower) and so I definatly got a great deal going here. Oh, and Scottie goes with me, since I don't have a daily babysitter, and he works out two. So, it is like 1.5 people for the price. :0)

Anywho, so this is the work out they have me doing. It's crazy boring, but at this point, that isn't the priority right?

Stretching / Warm Up

Do ONE of each of the following....
1. Turkish Get Ups - Laying on back, put one fist in the air and then reach it up into the air (like you're doing a crunch kind of... repeat with other arm)
2. While laying on side, hug yourself with bottom arm and place upper arm under self.. push self up. Repeat with other side. (don't think I can explain any better than that sorry haha)
3. Push up (The girlie kind for me... cause I'm a princess and don't you forget it)
4. Super man? (laying on stomach with arms out in front of you, lift both arms and legs into the air as high as you can.)
5. Sit up (Cassy style of course.... one leg bent while other leg forcefully kicks out away from body in order to HOPEFULLY get enough momentum going that a half sit up will be possible)
6. Squat  (Gotta work on being one with my invisible chair)
7. Jumping Jack (Go figure, this is the best thing that I can do)
8. Front Kick... repeat other leg.
9. Jog from middle of grass to the end of grass, turn around, pass starting point to other end/side of grass, turn around and stop in the middle (where we started). For me, I walked... I am horribly unsure on my feet and so the grass area was full of bumps and such that I felt like I was tripping on. Oh, and of course I had like 0.2648 percent oxygen left in my lungs!!!

Now repeat everything again but do each thing TWICE.

Now repeat everything again but do each thing THREE times.

Now repeat everything again but do each thing FOUR times.

Now repeat everything again but do each thing FIVE times.

Now repeat everything again but do each thing SIX times.

Now repeat everything again but do each thing SEVEN times.

Now thank the Lord that your hour is up and it is time to cool down and stretch again. At this point, I also prayed that my dizziness/wobbliness wouldn't affect the drive home. 0_o

Oh and don't forget.... come home, write in your blog about it and while you do that, remember that you forgot to turn your Redbox DVD in on your way home. Well, I guess tonight's class cost me an extra $1.10. Still cheaper than minimum wage though! lol

Note: You do the cycle as many times as you can do the allotted hour. So, if you are many more times as fast as me, then you will end up doing each thing many more times each. Yea, picture how boring THAT is... but again, not the priority right?

Today's Forecast.....

Chance of showers...... BABY SHOWERS! Ok, well baby shower.... no plural. I have a baby shower coming up for a friend and I really wanted to start on my baby items for my shop. What better thing to do than to take this as a practice run right? Well, several hours later (I had no existing patterns at the moment, ran out of supplies, etc) I have completed my first baby shower basket. Some of the items are store bought at a great discounted price and they all match the overall theme and color scheme of the gifts that I made. :0)

Again, I am using the camera on my old cell phone at the moment until I finally get off my butt and go buy a new battery for my digital.... so excuse the cruddy quality. :0/

The momma-to-be wanted a Giraffe theme. Everything I found was too girlie except this one. I LOVE the fabric. It is very bright and colorful. Except for some stray flower shapes here and there, it is very boy. This is a plus since her main request was no green or yellow as she didn't want her baby boy to be mistaken for a girl. I hope that the bright colors in this fabric work alright for her as they are not "baby" colors. We shall see.... anywho, here are the items.... and because T-mobile is a pain in my neck, some of the photos (the bib) didn't come through so I can't share them. :0/

Serger Fever!

It's official... I am a fabric addict.... but now I can add another addiction to my plate. SERGING! I got my new Serger yesterday and THANK THE LORD, it is pre-threaded. I picked up some crazy cute fabrics yesterday as well and decided to give a try to a skirt from scratch. I didn't have a tutorial for the exact item that I wanted, but I had bits and pieces to go off of. I needed a liner to attach my layers to, so I opted to use a shirt my little guy (big actually) as outgrown. (So, this is semi-refashioned but I'm still taking full credit!)

Anywho, here is a close up of the fabric and a photo of the skirt. I only have my old cell phone to take pictures at the moment, so bear with me and the cruddy quality. :0/

A dress for every girl....

I am joining my first contest after reading about the charity. The idea is that every little girl deserves at least one dress. I can completely go for that idea being that I was an all pink dress wearing little girl myself as a child! My goal is to complete 20 dresses by the end of the contest (Wednesday the 16th), but I plan on making many more.... for as long as the charity is doing their thing. :0)

Refashion #2

This is my second refashioned project. I used the bottom of a children's pocket shirt and refashioned it into an approx 19 inch waist toddler skirt for my best friend's little daughter, Sandra Jessie Jean. And yes, Sandra is taken after my first name, Cassandra, and Jean is my middle name too. Don't I have the best Best Friend ever!?!?!? :0) Too sweet....

Anywho, onto the skirt.... I hope she fits it and enjoys it. I just love the little colorful stars and the pocket. I made a couple rosette's as well that she can wear on the skirt or on a shirt. Sandra doesn't have much hair, but when she does, then she can wear it as a hair clip as well. :0)

Refashioned...

EEP.... I finally made my first refashioned project.... a woman's shirt into toddler skirt! The skirt is approx 20 inches in the waist which fits between 3T-4T. The original length was too short, so I added an ivory ruffle trim which came out just too cute! I also made a few rosette's out of the scraps of the shirt. One of them will be made into a removable pin for the skirt and the other two will be made into a hair clip (still in progress). I will be sending this out to my friend's adorable little daughter, Ella. :0)

This was also my first attempt at making ruffles out of strips of leftover knit fabric and it's easier said then done. My thread kept snapping even though I remembered not to close the ends of the stitch, I used a large stitch length and I tried being really gentle with it. Guess it's just something that takes practice..... or better thread? lol
